Polymerupdate : Tell us something about your
early start. How did you enter the polymers business ?
Mr. Jiten Mathuria
:
I am a Mechanical Engineer by
profession and had absolutely no background in the plastic industry.
I worked on a number of businesses and the plastics business for me
was just something on the sidelines. In 1995-96, I foresaw the huge
potential this industry promised. The plastics business was started by me as a trading activity. I started my business with the selling of
Polycarbonate. I also dealt in nylon, polyacetals, acrylic and PBT,
buying from importers, traders and selling to end users. |

Polymerupdate : What will you describe as the
turning point in your career ?
Mr. Jiten Mathuria : The turning
point in my career came when I was given the agency for Nylon 6,66
by SRF Polymers Ltd in 1999-2000. Later E.I. Dupont India Ltd also
awarded us an agency for selling their Polycarbonate. Today we
sell their PBT, Polyacetals, TPE etc, In 2001, we received an agency
from Sumitomo Chemicals, Singapore as sole distributors for Acrylic
Resin PMMA. These agencies gave my company a big reputation in the
market & all the existing customers started recommending our name to
other manufacturers & our customer base kept on increasing alongwith
our business. |
