Polymerupdate :
Your father Mr. Shyam Tibrewal is a respected name in the
plastics industry. Tell us something about the early days when he
started the group?
Mr. Siddharth
Tibrewal : The Mayur Group was started by my father
in 1975. Till 1985 our group was involved in the manufacturing and
trading of dyes and chemicals. In this period, we dealt successfully
with reputed names in the textile industry such as Reliance, Calico,
Ambika, Arvind, Birla, Tata and the Sodhan group. We played a vital
role in developing colours for polyester. |

Polymerupdate :
How did your
group plan diversifications in 1985 ?
Mr. Siddharth Tibrewal :
In 1985 we felt
that the field of dyes and chemicals was not environmentally
friendly and needed a lot of environmental changes. With this aim in
mind, we diversified into plastics extrusion. Over a period of time
we have developed into a multi faceted organization with 3
manufacturing companies under the group umbrella and a separate
trading division formed to cater to the different needs of its
customers. |

Mr. Siddharth

We
started our plastics extrusion unit in 1985 with a consumption of 45
metric tonnes per month. Our consumption reached 500 metric tonnes
per month in 2000. In 2007, we had a raw material consumption of
25,000 metric tonnes per year for in house Mayur wovens production
and our group raw material consumption is 60,000 metric tonnes per
annum of PP, HDPE, HM, LLDPE, LDPE and Masterbatch. We expect
our group consumption to cross the capacity of 1 lakh metric tonnes
per annum in 2010. |

Polymerupdate : How do you protect yourselves
against price fluctuations in the market ?
Mr. Siddharth
Tibrewal :
We
always maintain enough inventory of material to protect ourselves
against price fluctuations in the market. We also have a long term
