PET pricing undertone continues to remain firm in Europe - Mar 7, 2011 [14:35 ]
Availability of PET remained an issue in Europe allowing sellers to keep their spot pricing targets firm at the Euro 1650/mt FD North West Europe levels and higher.
A PET seller in conversation with a polymerupdate team member said while requesting anonymity, “ for smaller volumes we are able to achieve a price of Euro 1650/mt however the larger buyers are demanding lower rates. Overall, with input costs on the climb and with supply tight, near term outlook for PET remains bullish.”
He added, “ supporting the firm pricing undertone is the availability problem with PTA in Europe. There is a genuine lack of supply and this has resulted in reduced PET production in the region.”
