Taiwanese producer sells PVC resin to India - Mar 8, 2011 [15:50]
A domestic industry source informed a polymerupdate team member on concluded deals for PVC resin in the Indian markets.
The trader said, "CGPC, Taiwan has sealed few deals for its PVC resin suspension grade at the USD 1160/mt levels, to India."
The trader added, "these deals were done on a CIF Nhava Sheva basis for shipment in March 2011."

PVC contract prices in Europe rise - Mar 7, 2011 [13:03]
In Europe last week, contract prices of PVC were assessed firmer as compared to the week before. With ethylene contracts for March settling up at the Euro 1195/mt FD North West Europe mark, a steep gain of Euro 60/mt as compared with February, producers of PVC wasted no time in revising higher their prices.
Suspension grade contract PVC prices were assessed up at the Euro 1115/mt FD North West Europe levels while FD Italy prices were assessed up at the Euro 1125/mt levels.
While speaking with a source in Europe a polymerupdate team member was informed, “ PVC producer margins are being squeezed on account of rising input costs. With crude and naphtha prices also surging and with demand said to be good in Europe, PVC sellers are untied in their efforts to hike their March rates."
He added, " Ineos ChlorVinyls for example has announced an increase of Euro 100/mt for March. Although buyers polled do not believe that the entire increase will be achieved, they do accept that a price rise in March is inevitable. Opinion regarding the length of increases defer with some buyers expecting hikes of Euro 30/mt while others are prepared to see contracts rise by Euro 50/mt.”
