VCM plant taken offstream by Formosa - Nov 3rd, 2009 [09:00]
While in conversation with a polymerupdate team member last evening, a local trader gave an overview on buying trends and ruling prices of PP, PE and PVC in the open markets of Kolkata.
The trader said, “ a steady buying undertone prevailed at the start of the week in the open markets of Kolkata.”
The trader added, "HMHDPE prices in the open markets were at Rs.82/kg to Rs.83/kg levels while HDPE injection was pegged at Rs.74/kg to Rs.75/kg levels. HD blowmoulding was at Rs.80/kg to Rs.81/kg levels. LLDPE film prices were at Rs.79/kg to Rs.80/kg levels."
The trader added, "ethylene based PVC were at Rs.55/kg levels. LDPE film prices were at Rs.79/kg to Rs.80/kg levels."
He said, "PP raffia was at Rs.74/kg to Rs.75/kg levels. PP film were at Rs.78/kg to Rs.79/kg levels, while PP injection was at Rs.75/kg to Rs.76/kg levels."

Hanwha restarts VCM plant - Sep 30th, 2009 [08:50]
While in conversation with a polymerupdate team member last evening, a trader spoke on buying trends and prevailing prices of PP, PE and PVC in the open markets of Delhi.
The trader said, “ the buying momentum was sluggish in Delhi’s open markets on Tuesday. The markets are expecting a downward price revision from domestic producers tomorrow for the month of October.”
The trader said, "HMHDPE prices in Delhi's open markets were at Rs.74/kg to Rs.75/kg levels while HDPE raffia was pegged at Rs.71/kg levels. HDPE injection was lower at Rs.70.50/kg to Rs.71/kg levels. HD Blowmoulding was at Rs.71/kg to Rs.72/kg levels. LLDPE film was down at Rs.72/kg levels."
He added, " ethylene based PVC was at Rs.52.50/kg to Rs.53/kg levels. LDPE film was at Rs.72/kg to Rs.73/kg levels."
He said, "PP raffia was heard at Rs.64/kg levels. PP film prices were at Rs.66/kg to Rs.66.50/kg levels while PP injection was at Rs.63/kg levels."
