EXCEEDLLDPE

LL6301 Series (Linear Low Density Polyethylene for injection molding applications)

Key features

Recommended processing conditions and resin handling

LL 6301 grades are medium density LDPE grades, with a relatively high molecular weight. Compared to LDPE grades of equivalent density, LL 6301 grades exhibit a higher heat deflection temperature and a significantly greater resistance to long term creep. The relatively high molecular weight of the LL 6301 grades means that molded articles are very tough and exhibit excellent environmental stress cracking resistance. LL 6301 grades have excellent mechanical
properties and some applications which have taken advantage of these properties are threaded closures, caps, houseware and technical parts.

The superior properties of LL 6301 grades make it ideal grades to substitute lower melt make it ideal grades to substitute lower melt index, low density resins and still  significant improvement in properties such as ESCR, gloss and stiffness. Another outstanding feature is that articles molded from LL 6101 grades exhibit very low warpage.

The intrinsically high stiffness of LL 6301 grades offers the advantage of material savings by downgauging wall thickness whilst retaining top load strength. The grade is also available in powder form (LL 6301 RQ) which is used in compounding applications.

LL 6301 grades can readily be processed on  commercially available injection molding machines. The optimum conditions depend on many parameters e.g. application, mould design, etc. but as a guideline the normal processing temperature should lie in the range of 210-230 °C. The grade shows an improved cycle time: the higher crystallization point of linear LDPE and its greater intrinsic stiffness versus LDPE allow mold ejection at higher temperatures.

The LL6301 RQ powder version can be conveyed and fed through systems designed to handle pelletized grades. However some minormodification may be necessary.

The LL6301 grades are stabilized for protection against oxidation and yellowing during processing under normal injection molding conditions.

While LL 6301 YM contains an UV stabilizer, LL
6301 XR and RQ are not suitable for use in outdoor applications since they don't contain any ultra violet light stabilization.

LL 6301 XR and LL 6301 YM are available as pelletized products. LL 6301 RQ is supplied in powder form.
