LOTEK

LOTEK 7010 (Ethylene Acrylic Acid Zinc  IONOMER)

Key features

Recommended processing conditions and resin handling

IOTEK 7010 is a low melt-index zinc ionomer
which offers :

- high durability and resilience
- high impact strength
- good surface finish
- good low temperature mechanical
   properties

It is typically used for sheet and profile extrusion and for injection molding.
It is combining good processability with excellent mechanical properties.

Processing conditions:
IOTEK 7010 can be processed on equipment normally used for LDPE.
Melt temperature : 200 - 230 °C

Warning:

To minimize corrosion risk, all exposed metal surfaces in the extruder and die should be made from corrosion resistant metals or nickel/chrome plated.

Iotek 7010 should be fed into the extruder after LDPE of a similar or higher melt index. Machines should always be completely purged with LDPE or a suitable cleaning compound before shutdown.

Cation containing polymers pick up moisture from the atmosphere if exposed for prolonged periods. It is therefore recommended to re-seal  tightly the package after each production run molding.
