LOTEK

LOTEK 7410 (Ethylene Acrylic Acid Zinc IONOMER)

Key features

Recommended processing conditions and resin handling

IOTEK 7410 is a zinc ionomer, made from an ethylene acrylic acid base polymer with high acid incorporation.

It offers :
- high durability and resilience
- high impact strength
- good mechanical properties

It is typically used for sheet extrusion, injection molding applications, golf balls and polyamide modification.

Processing conditions:
IOTEK 7410 can be processed on equipment normally used for LDPE.

Melt temperature : 200 - 230 °C

Warning:

To minimize corrosion risk, all exposed metal surfaces in the extruder and die should be made from corrosion resistant metals or nickel/chrome plated.

Iotek 7410 should be fed into the extruder after LDPE of a similar or higher melt index. Machines should always be completely purged with LDPE or a suitable cleaning compound before shutdown.

Cation containing polymers pick up moisture from the atmosphere if exposed for prolonged periods. It is therefore recommended to re-seal  tightly the package after each production run.
