LOTEK

LOTEK 8420 (Ethylene Acrylic Acid Sodium IONOMER)

Key features

Recommended processing conditions and resin handling

IOTEK 8420 is a sodium ionomer,
which offers :
- high durability and resilience
- high impact strength
- good mechanical properties

It is typically used for sheet and profile extru-sion, golf balls and injection molding applications.

Processing conditions :
IOTEK 8420 can be processed on equip-ment normally used for LDPE..
Melt temperature : 200 - 230 °C

Warning:

To minimize corrosion risk, all exposed metal surfaces in the extruder and die should be made from corrosion resistant metals or nickel/chrome plated.

Iotek 8420should be fed into the extruder after LDPE of a similar or higher melt index. Machines should always be completely purged with LDPE or a suitable cleaning compound before shutdown.

Caution containing polymers pick up moisture from the atmosphere if exposed for prolonged periods. It is therefore recommended to re-seal  tightly the package after each production run
