Despite strong naphtha values, ethylene prices were assessed flat in Asia on Thursday.

An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Prices remained unchanged on the back of muted buying sentiments in the region.”

CFR South East Asia ethylene prices on Thursday were assessed at the USD 965-975/mt levels, unchanged from Wednesday's assessed levels.

CFR North East Asia ethylene prices on Thursday were assessed at the USD 945-955/mt levels, unchanged from Wednesday.

In plant news, GAIL (India) Limited has restarted its No. 2 cracker following an outage that lasted several months. The cracker was shut in H1 October 2022. Located at Pata in India, the No. 2 cracker has ethylene production capacity of 450,000 mt/year.
