Polyvinylchloride (PVC) prices drift lower in Asia

This week, PVC prices drifted lower in Asia. Prices fell owing to persistent weaker buying sentiments in the region.

CFR China prices of PVC were at the USD 860/mt levels, a drop of USD 5/mt on the week. CFR South East Asia prices of PVC were assessed down at the USD 855/mt levels, a week on week decrease of USD 15/mt.

In India, prices of PVC were assessed lower at the USD 900/mt levels, a week on week decline of USD 25/mt.. The price fall was supported by deals sealed at lower price levels in the region.

In India, overseas producers have concluded several deals for PVC resin suspension grade at the USD 900/mt levels, for shipment in October 2018.
In Sri Lanka, PVC prices were assessed down at the USD 860/mt CFR levels, a week on week decline of USD 5/mt. In Bangladesh, prices of PVC were assessed lower at the USD 865/mt CFR levels, a decrease of USD 5/mt on the week.

In Pakistan prices of PVC were assessed steady at the USD 880/mt levels.
Feedstock ethylene prices on Tuesday were at the USD 1075/mt CFR South East Asia levels, a week on week plunge of USD 50/mt. CFR North East Asia prices of ethylene were at the USD 1185/mt levels, a tumble of USD 40/mt from the previous week.
