Linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) prices witness a rise in Asia

This week, LLDPE prices climbed higher in Asia. The price rise, was a result of, stronger upstream energy costs, higher import offers from overseas suppliers and gains recorded, in the LLDPE futures, on the Dalian Commodity Exchange in China.

In Far East Asia, prices of LLDPE were assessed higher at the USD 905/mt CFR levels, a rise of USD 10/mt from the previous week. In South East Asia, prices of LLDPE were assessed at the USD 950/mt CFR levels, a week on week gain of USD 15/mt.

In India , prices of LLDPE were assessed higher at the USD 900/mt CFR levels, up USD 10/mt from the last week.

In India, a Middle Eastern producer has offered its LLDPE film grade at the USD 900/mt levels, for shipment in July 2019.

In Sri Lanka, prices of LLDPE were assessed at the USD 970/mt CFR levels, while in Pakistan, prices of LLDPE were assessed at the USD 960/mt, both up by USD 10/mt from the previous week.

In Bangladesh, prices of LLDPE were assessed to be stable at the USD 950/mt levels.

Feedstock ethylene prices on Tuesday, were at the USD 775/mt CFR North East Asia levels, a week on week fall of USD 10/mt. CFR South East Asia prices of ethylene were at the USD 695/mt levels, a drop of USD 5/mt from the previous week.
