SOCAR: Leading oil companies have joined a new initiative to protect the environment in Azerbaijan

SOCAR has proposed the establishment of an independent regional organization called the Caspian Environmental Protection Initiative (CEPI). During the meeting, it was decided to establish a joint working group and sign a "memorandum of understanding" to ensure the successful operation of the newly established organization. At the end of the meeting, the participants unanimously elected SOCAR Vice President for Ecology Rafiga Huseynzadeh as chairman of the newly created initiative.
