Ethylene prices continue to quote steady in Asia

On Tuesday, despite bullish energy values, ethylene prices rolled over in Asia.

An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, "Ethylene prices in the Asian market stayed steady, as overall purchasing activity remained low, despite rising pressure from higher crude oil and naphtha prices.”

CFR North East Asia ethylene prices on Tuesday were assessed at the USD 815-825/mt levels, unchanged from Monday’s assessed levels.

Meanwhile, CFR South East Asia ethylene prices on Tuesday were assessed at the USD 825-835/mt levels, stable from Monday’s assessed levels.

In plant news, Yulong Petrochemical has brought on stream its High density polyethylene/Linear low density polyethylene (HDPE/LLDPE) swing unit this week. The unit was shut for maintenance in mid-July 2025. Located in Longkou, China, the swing unit has a production capacity of 500,000 mt/year.
