Styrene monomer (SM) prices surge in Asia
On Monday, SM prices in Asia raced higher amid healthy buying momentum across the region.
Higher upstream energy costs, coupled with bullish feedstock benzene values, contributed to the price gains.
FOB Korea SM prices were assessed at USD 890-900/mt levels, a sharp rise of USD (+30/mt) from Friday’s assessed levels.
CFR China SM prices were assessed at USD 900-910/mt levels, higher by USD (+30/mt) from Friday.
Meanwhile, feedstock benzene prices were assessed at USD 680-690/mt FOB Korea levels, up USD (+10/mt) from Friday.
