Ethylene prices journey southward in Asia
Last week, ethylene prices trended lower in the Asian region.
An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Ethylene prices dropped across Asia, driven by ample product availability and weak buying sentiment.”
The source added, “Sellers offered material at competitive prices to reduce inventories and encourage buying activity.”
CFR Northeast Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 705–715/mt levels, a fall of USD (-20/mt) from the previous week.
CFR South East Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 695–705/mt levels, a week-on-week decrease of USD (-10/mt).
FOB Korea ethylene prices were assessed at USD 660–670/mt levels, while FOB Japan prices were assessed at USD 655–665/mt levels, both down USD (-25/mt) from the previous week.
