Ethylene prices march higher in Asia
Last week, ethylene prices gained in the Asian region.
An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Ethylene prices moved higher on the back of tight product availability, as supply remained limited due to ongoing plant maintenance and lower operating rates at several regional crackers. At the same time, an improvement in buying sentiment, along with firmer upstream energy costs, added support to the overall upward price trend.”
CFR North East Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 705–715/mt levels, a week-on-week gain of USD (+5/mt).
CFR South East Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 705–715/mt levels, higher by USD (+25/mt) from the previous week.
FOB Korea ethylene prices were assessed at USD 675–678/mt levels, a week-on-week rise of USD (+15/mt).
FOB Japan prices were assessed at USD 670-680/mt, an increase of USD (+5/mt) from the previous week.
