On Wednesday, propylene prices climbed in Asia.
Prices rose sharply due to a spike in upstream energy costs and supply disruptions caused by ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Meanwhile, raw material shortages have compelled a few Asian producers to declare force majeure (FM) at their plants.
FOB Korea propylene prices were assessed at USD 845-855/mt levels, a sharp gain of USD (+35/mt) from Tuesday's assessed levels.
CFR China propylene prices were assessed at USD 885-895/mt levels, a surge of USD (+35/mt) from Tuesday's assessed levels.
