On Thursday, ethylene prices leapt higher in Asia.
Prices surged sharply due to a spike in upstream energy costs and supply disruptions caused by ongoing tensions in West Asia. Meanwhile, raw material shortages have forced several Asian producers to declare force majeure (FM) at their plants
CFR South East Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 815-825/mt levels, a surge of USD (+50/mt) from Wednesday's assessed levels.
CFR North East Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 845-855/mt levels, a steep day-on-day rise of USD (+50/mt).
