Propylene prices surge in Asia

On Monday, propylene prices leapt higher in Asia, driven by rising upstream energy rates and supply disruptions caused by ongoing tensions in West Asia. Limited raw material availability has also prompted several Asian producers to declare force majeure (FM) and scale back production.
FOB Korea propylene prices were assessed at USD 1105-1115/mt levels, surge by USD (+230) from last Friday's assessed levels.
CFR China propylene prices were assessed at USD 1145-1155/mt levels, marking a steep gain of USD (+230) from last Friday.
