Ethylene prices climb in Asia on firm crude and reduced output

On Tuesday, ethylene prices in Asia moved sharply higher, mainly due to rising upstream crude values.

Prices further pushed higher by supply disruptions caused by the escalating conflict in West Asia have continued to tighten the availability of key raw materials, forcing several producers in Asia to declare force majeure or reduce operating rates.

CFR South East Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 1245-1255/mt levels, a sharp hike of USD (+50/mt) from Monday assessed levels.

CFR North East Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 1245-1255/mt levels, a steep day-on-day gain of USD (+50/mt).
