Styrene monomer (SM) prices slip in Asia

On Wednesday, Asian SM prices fell in line with declines in upstream energy and benzene feedstock rates.

The price drop was further driven by weak downstream demand and cautious buying sentiment across Asia.

FOB Korea SM prices were assessed at USD 940-950/mt levels, sharply down by USD (-30/mt) from Tuesday’s assessed levels.

CFR China SM prices were assessed at USD 955-965/mt levels, lower by USD (-15/mt) from the previous day.

Meanwhile, FOB Korea benzene feedstock prices were assessed at USD 810-820/mt levels, a day-on-day decline of USD (-15/mt).
