Asian Ethylene prices decline amid weak demand and geopolitical uncertainty

Last week, ethylene prices dropped across the Asian region.

An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, "Asian ethylene prices declined as geopolitical uncertainty weighed on overall market sentiment. Weak demand from downstream sectors kept buying interest subdued, with buyers adopting a cautious, wait-and-see approach and limiting purchases to immediate requirements. The lack of active buying pressure, coupled with prevailing uncertainty, continued to weigh on prices.”

CFR Southeast Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 1025-1035/mt levels, a fall of USD (-20/mt) from the previous week.

CFR Northeast Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 1045-1055/mt levels, a week-on-week decline of USD (-20/mt).

FOB Korea ethylene prices were assessed at USD 1035-1045/mt levels, while FOB Japan prices were assessed at USD 1030-1040/mt levels, both lower by USD (-20/mt) from the previous week.
