Propylene prices gain in China
On Monday, propylene prices quoted higher in China, while remaining stable in Korea.
CFR China propylene prices on Monday were assessed at the USD 865-875/mt levels, an increase of USD (+10/mt) from Friday. An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Prices rose on the back of improved regional buying activity."
Meanwhile, FOB Korea propylene prices on Monday were assessed at the USD 825-835/mt levels, rolled over from Friday’s assessed levels.
In plant news, Shandong Lihuayi Group has shut down its Propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant on January 2, 2025 for maintenance. Further details on the duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained. Located in Dongying, Shandong in China, the plant has a propylene production capacity of 600,000 mt/year.
