Propylene prices edge higher in Asia
Propylene prices rose in Asia on Tuesday.
An industry source in Asia, while requesting to remain unidentified, informed a Polymerupdate team member, "In Asia, propylene prices increased, buoyed by a rebound in purchasing interest in major markets and a concurrent rise in energy prices.”
FOB Korea propylene prices on Tuesday were assessed at the USD 755-765/mt levels, up USD (+5/mt) from Monday’s assessed levels.
CFR China propylene prices on Tuesday were assessed at the USD 785-795/mt levels, an increase of USD (+5/mt) from Monday.
In plant news, Hebei Haiwei Group has shut down its propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant around August 31, 2025 for maintenance. However, the duration of the shutdown remains uncertain. Located in Hebei, China, the plant has a propylene production capacity of 500,000 mt/year.
