This week, ABS spot prices quoted higher, while ABS contract prices rolled over in Europe.
A European industry source told a Polymerupdate team member, “Spot indications in the European ABS market rose, supported by higher freight rates and foreign exchange movements. European producers increased their prices, narrowing the cost advantage of material from the region, which may support local demand while limiting exports. Shipments from the region are expected to decline amid concerns over stricter antidumping duties.”
In the spot markets, FD Northwest Europe general-purpose and natural-grade ABS prices were assessed at Euro 1465-1475/mt levels, a week-on-week gain of Euro (+20/mt).
In the contract markets, general-purpose and natural-grade ABS prices were assessed at Euro 1710-1715/mt FD NWE Germany and FD NWE Italy levels, both stable from the previous week. ABS prices were assessed at Euro 1710-1715/mt FD NWE France levels, left unchanged from last week. Meanwhile, ABS prices were assessed at GBP 1490-1495/mt FD NWE UK levels, a rise of GBP (+10/mt) from last week.
European butadiene contract price for February 2026 settled at Euro 730/MT FD Northwest Europe levels. This price represents a sharp gain of Euro (+30/mt) from its January 2026 settlement levels.
SM feedstock spot prices were assessed at USD 1080-1090/mt FOB Rotterdam levels, a surge of USD (+80/mt) from the previous week.
Meanwhile, butadiene spot prices were assessed at USD 765-775/mt FOB Rotterdam levels, an increase of USD (+25/mt) from last week, while ACN prices were assessed at USD 1345-1355/mt CIF MED levels, a sharp week-on-week increase by USD (+40/mt).
