This week, PP spot prices climbed, while contract prices remained constant in Europe.
An industry source in Europe told a Polymerupdate team member, “The European polypropylene market recorded higher spot prices as tighter supply put upward pressure on the market. Demand remained weak, with no clear signs of a meaningful improvement in sentiment for February, limiting price gains. Recent price movements have largely been driven by supply-side factors, as imports of both homopolymer and copolymer polypropylene continued to decline, reducing the availability of lower-priced material. Cheaper offers gradually disappeared, allowing suppliers to push for firmer pricing. Overall demand levels remained unchanged, but market participants increasingly sought to stabilize and strengthen prices.”
