Ethylene prices rise in parts of Asia
Last week, ethylene prices climbed in some parts of the Asian region.
An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, “The rise in ethylene prices was driven by constrained product availability, with supply remaining tight due to ongoing plant maintenance activities and reduced operating rates at several regional crackers. However, buying sentiment in the region remained weak because of the ongoing holidays.”
FOB Korea ethylene prices were assessed at USD 660–670/mt levels, higher by USD (+5/mt) from the previous week.
FOB Japan prices were assessed at USD 655-665/mt, a week-on-week increase of USD (+5/mt).
Meanwhile, CFR North East Asia ethylene prices were assessed as steady at USD 700–710/mt levels.
CFR South East Asia ethylene prices were also assessed as stable at USD 680–690/mt levels.
