Polypropylene (PP) prices exhibit a mixed trend across Europe

This week, Polypropylene prices in Europe diverged, as spot prices declined and contract prices held steady.

An industry source in Europe, on condition of anonymity, informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Spot market pressures have resulted in lower prices, in contrast to the stability in contract agreements, which have remained unchanged. This divergence reflects ongoing fluctuations in feedstock prices, influencing overall market sentiment. Looking ahead, the market is expected to experience limited volatility in the coming weeks.”



In the spot markets, PP injection moulding grade prices were assessed at Euro 1885-1895/mt FD North West Europe levels, a steep drop of Euro (-60/mt) from last week. PP block copolymer grade prices were assessed at Euro 1945-1955/mt FD NWE levels, slipping by Euro (-40/mt) from the previous week.



In the contract markets, PP injection moulding grade prices were assessed at Euro 2330-2335/mt FD NWE Germany levels, stable from the previous week, while PP injection moulding grade prices were assessed at Euro 2330-2335/mt FD NWE France levels, unchanged from last week. Meanwhile, PP injection moulding grade prices were assessed at Euro 2320-2325/mt FD NWE Italy levels, week-on-week flat, while PP injection moulding grade prices were assessed at GBP 2020-2025/mt FD NWE UK levels, holding steady from last week.

PP block copolymer grade prices were assessed at Euro 2410-2415/mt FD NWE Germany levels, unchanged from the previous week, while PP block copolymer grade prices were assessed at Euro 2410-2415/mt FD NWE France levels, week-on-week flat. Meanwhile, PP block copolymer grade prices were assessed at Euro 2400-2405/mt FD NWE Italy levels, unchanged from last week, and PP block copolymer grade prices were assessed at GBP 2090-2095/mt FD NWE UK levels, holding steady from the previous week.



In Antwerp, PP homopolymer grade prices were assessed at Euro 1870-1900/mt FCA levels, declined by (-60/mt) from last week, while PP copolymer grade prices were assessed at Euro 1930-1960/mt FCA levels, week-on-week lower by (-40/mt).



Propylene feedstock spot prices were assessed at Euro 1580-1590/mt FD Northwest Europe levels, a gain of Euro (+20/mt) from last week.
