Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) prices decline across Asia

10 Jun 2026 14:30 IST
This week, Polyvinyl Chloride suspension grade prices in Asia softened across the board, with declines observed across Far East Asia, Southeast Asia, and the South Asian markets of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

An industry source in Asia, on condition of anonymity, informed a Polymerupdate team member, "PVC prices declined across the region amid weaker market sentiment, following significantly lower offers from a major Taiwanese producer compared with the previous month. The sharp downward revision in pricing pressured market expectations and encouraged buyers to delay fresh purchases in anticipation of further corrections. Cautious buying activity and limited immediate demand continued to weigh on overall market momentum.”

In Far East Asia, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 760 to 820/mt CFR levels, easing, USD (-20/-60/mt) week on week.

In Southeast Asia, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 770 to 790/mt CFR levels, declining, USD (-30/-60/mt) compared to the prior week.

In India, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 800 to 840/mt CFR levels, slipping, USD (-30/-60/mt) from the previous week.

In Pakistan, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 840 to 890/mt CFR levels, softening, USD (-10/-30/mt) from last week.

In Sri Lanka, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 800 to 850/mt CFR levels, edging lower, USD (-20/-50/mt) week on week.

In Bangladesh, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 820 to 900/mt CFR levels, moving lower, USD (-70/-80/mt) from the previous week.

Adding to the bearish tone, a major Taiwanese producer is heard to have announced its offer for PVC resin Suspension grade at USD 760/mt CFR levels for the Chinese market, marking a sharp reduction of USD 120/mt from the previous month's offer. For the Southeast Asian market, the same producer is heard to have placed its offer at USD 790/mt CFR levels for July 2026 shipment. In India, the Taiwanese producer offered PVC Suspension grade at USD 805/mt CIF levels for July 2026 shipment on LC at sight basis. The aggressive offer revisions appear to have shaped the broader weakening tone across Asian PVC markets this week.

On the feedstock front, CFR Northeast Asia ethylene prices on Tuesday were assessed at USD 925-935/mt levels, registering a fall of USD (-60/mt) from last week. VCM feedstock prices in Far East Asia were assessed at USD 595-605/mt CFR levels, down USD (-65/mt) week on week. Meanwhile, EDC prices in Far East Asia were assessed at USD 310-320/mt CFR levels, rolled over from the previous week.
