Styrene Monomer (SM) prices surge in Asia
On Tuesday, despite bearish upstream energy values, SM prices rallied in Asia.
The price rise was supported by stronger benzene feedstock rates and limited spot availability.
FOB Korea SM prices were assessed at USD 1420-1430/mt levels, sharply up USD (+60/mt) from Monday’s assessed levels.
CFR China SM prices were assessed at USD 1380-1390/mt levels, a spike of USD (+60/mt) from the previous day.
Meanwhile, FOB Korea benzene feedstock prices were assessed at USD 1180-1190/mt levels, a day-on-day gain of USD (+10/mt).
