Circulate Capital Invests in Indonesian Recycler Bumi Baru Plastik to Support Fivefold Capacity Expansion

15 Oct 2026 13:15 IST
Circulate Capital has invested an undisclosed amount in PT Bumi Baru Plastik (BBP), an Indonesian plastics recycler, to support a planned fivefold increase in the company’s processing capacity.

The investment, Circulate Capital’s sixth in Indonesia, will help BBP move from pilot-scale production to a consolidated industrial site in Jonggol, West Java, and scale its polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) recycling business.

Founded in 2022, BBP takes an R&D-driven approach to producing high-purity recycled PP and PE for demanding sectors such as automotive and woven bag-to-bag applications. The company processes post-consumer and post-industrial plastics, including end-of-life vehicle parts, industrial packaging, woven bags and manufacturing offcuts, into recycled materials for the automotive, electronics and packaging industries.

Alongside the capacity expansion, BBP plans to streamline operations and further develop its sourcing network. The company currently supplies more than 50 plastics manufacturers and aims to strengthen feedstock supply through a network of more than 400 collection partners. BBP is also recruiting senior engineering staff and extruder operators for the Jonggol site.

The expansion will be delivered in phases. Phase 1, which will increase capacity to 1,600 tonnes per month, is scheduled for completion by February 2027, with a further phase taking capacity to 2,600 tonnes per month by Q4 2027.
