PRESS RELEASE

PLASTICS CEO Matt Seaholm Appointed to Council of Manufacturing Associations’ Board of Advisers

23 Jan 2026

The Plastics Industry Association announced that President and CEO Matt Seaholm has been appointed to the Board of Advisers of the Council of Manufacturing Associations (CMA), a leadership body convened by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) to strengthen collaboration across the U.S. manufacturing sector.

The CMA brings together leaders from more than 200 industry-specific manufacturing associations to align on strategies that expand manufacturing jobs, drive investment, and enhance America’s global competitiveness. Seaholm’s appointment reflects both his leadership and the integral role the plastics industry plays within the broader U.S. manufacturing ecosystem.

PLASTICS also congratulates the newly announced CMA leadership, including Corey Rosenbusch, President and CEO of The Fertilizer Institute, who was elected Chair, and Kelly Mariotti, President and CEO of the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers, who was elected Vice Chair. PLASTICS further recognizes the election of new CMA Board of Advisers members Frank Hugelmeyer, President and CEO of the National Marine Manufacturers Association, and Megan Tanel, President and CEO of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers.

Seaholm’s appointment to the CMA Board of Advisers underscores the plastics industry’s role as a cornerstone of U.S. manufacturing supporting innovation, supply chain resilience, advanced materials, and affordable products used every day across critical sectors.

“The CMA is critical to aligning manufacturing leaders around practical, pro-growth policy,” said Seaholm. “I’m honored to serve alongside this distinguished group as we work together to strengthen American manufacturing and ensure the voices of plastics manufacturers are represented at the highest levels of industry collaboration.”
PLASTICS looks forward to working with CMA leadership and fellow member associations to advance policies that support innovation, resilience, and long-term economic growth across the manufacturing economy.
