PRESS RELEASE

Voluntarily Following the ISO 14068-1 Standard, CHIMEI Achieves a Carbon Neutral Booth at K 2025

27 Jan 2026

CHIMEI Corporation announced that it has achieved carbon neutrality for its participation at K 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, in accordance with the ISO 14068-1:2023 Carbon Neutrality Standard on a voluntary basis. Through a comprehensive greenhouse gas inventory and voluntary carbon offsetting via Climate Impact X (CIX), Singapore’s international carbon exchange, CHIMEI has demonstrated its firm commitment in carbon management and global climate action.

CHIMEI’s internal carbon inventory shows that the company generated a total of 168 metric tons of CO₂e during the K 2025 exhibition period. The assessment covered emissions associated with booth construction and materials, on-site energy consumption, gifts and catering, as well as staff accommodation, commuting, and international business travel.

To fully neutralize these emissions, CHIMEI voluntarily offset 168 tCO₂e through verified carbon credits traded on Climate Impact X (CIX), Singapore’s international carbon exchange, ensuring alignment with recognized international integrity principles.

In parallel, CHIMEI implemented a range of emission-reduction measures at K 2025, reflecting the principle of “Reduce emissions first, then offset.” These measures included the use of rented and reusable booth materials, recyclable tableware, sustainably designed exhibition giveaways, and a shift toward digital catalogs and paperless communication to enhance both environmental performance and communication efficiency.

The carbon credits were sourced from the Keo Seima REDD+ Project in Cambodia’s Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary, a project that delivers climate benefits through forest conservation while supporting biodiversity protection, local community development, and the rights of Indigenous peoples. By selecting a project with strong environmental and social co-benefits, CHIMEI has extended its climate action beyond carbon neutrality to contribute meaningfully to nature conservation and social sustainability.

By voluntarily achieving carbon neutrality at K 2025 in compliance with ISO 14068-1:2023 standard, CHIMEI reinforces its commitment to robust carbon management and responds to growing global expectations for credible climate action. CHIMEI will continue to advance its decarbonization efforts and work with partners across the value chain toward a more sustainable future.
