Through the partnership, Macfarlane will offer its UK customers access to eutecma’s PROTECT modular packaging system, used together with its ICECATCH high-performance cooling elements. Together, the two solutions support the safe and efficient transport of temperature-sensitive goods across pharmaceutical, healthcare and food supply chains.
Developed in Germany, eutecma’s PROTECT system is a modular, reusable insulated box solution designed to optimise payload efficiency. Macfarlane’s customers will be able to adjust packaging configurations to suit different shipment sizes and temperature requirements, PROTECT helps significantly reduce unused space within shipments, cutting costs associated with transporting unnecessary volume or “shipping air “.
When paired with ICECATCH cooling elements, the system delivers temperature stability for up to 120 hours, ensuring reliable protection for sensitive products across ambient, chilled and frozen ranges. This combination provides Macfarlane’s customers with a highly flexible, high-performance cold chain solution using a single, adaptable system.
Sustainability is also a key part of eutecma’s approach. Alongside its reusable packaging systems, the company has developed retecma, a cold chain reverse logistics process that supports circularity through recovery, reconditioning and recycling. This will support Macfarlane’s customers to reduce waste, recover value and lower the environmental impact of their cold chain operations.
