Tosoh Corporation: Physical Internet Realization Council’s Chemical Products Working Group Formulates Standard Guidelines for Chemical Logistics Information

the Chemicals Working Group of the Physical Internet Realization Council led by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and chaired by Professor Yuji Yano, of Ryutsu Keizai University, announced that it has formulated standard guidelines for chemical logistics information to advance data standardization across the industry. The guidelines aim to address the transport capacity shortages stemming from the “2024 Logistics Problem” and to expand joint logistics throughout the chemical industry.

The Chemicals Working Group comprises 86 organizations, primarily shippers and logistics providers, one university, the Japan Chemical Industry Association, the Japan Petrochemical Industry Association, and various METI, MLIT, and Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) departments.

Tosoh Corporation serves as the working group’s secretariat alongside Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, Mitsui Chemicals, Inc., and Toray Industries, Inc.
