Sasol awards R1 million to innovative SMEs driving solutions for the future

Sasol has announced the winners of its SME Innovation Competition, awarding R1 million in funding to three South African entrepreneurs whose innovative solutions have the potential to address industry challenges and contribute to a more sustainable and competitive future.

The competition, launched through Sasol's Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) programme under the theme Innovate Where You Are, invited entrepreneurs and small businesses to develop practical, scalable solutions across key opportunity areas in the energy and industrial sectors.



Following a competitive evaluation process, three winners were selected for demonstrating innovation, commercial potential and the ability to create meaningful impact.
The winners are:

- First prize (R500 000): Carbon Smart, founded by Rodney Maduwa
- Second prize (R350 000): Fuel Stream, founded by Tokelo Mahanke
- Third prize (R150 000): LitrePass AI, founded by Tsakane Maqayiya

The winning businesses distinguished themselves through forward-thinking solutions focused on fleet and fuel management, product quality assurance, decarbonisation and novel value-added services. Their innovations demonstrate how local entrepreneurs can contribute to solving real-world challenges while supporting business growth, operational efficiency and sustainability.
