New projects discussed between Uzbekneftegaz and Sinopec

13 Aug 2026

Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC Abdugani Sanginov received a delegation led by Fan Xiannan, General Representative of the Representative Office for Russia and Central Asia of Sinopec, one of the leading oil, gas and chemical corporations of the People's Republic of China.

The meeting discussed in detail the issues of bringing mutually beneficial cooperation in the oil and gas sector to a new level, expanding geological exploration, drilling deep wells, and introducing modern technologies in the field of oil refining.

During the conversation, the Chairman of the Board noted that as a result of geological exploration work carried out in the Ustyurt region in recent years, promising hydrocarbon reserves have been identified. It was noted that within the framework of the development of these deposits, it is planned to build wells with a depth of 5.5-6 thousand meters, drilled under conditions of high formation pressure and high temperature. In this regard, Sinopec was invited to present modern technological solutions and commercial proposals in this direction.

The issue of joint exploration and development of new promising blocks was also considered a priority during the negotiations. As noted, the volume of exploration this year has increased by almost three times compared to last year. In this regard, views were exchanged on the organization of joint exploration in promising areas and the development of cooperation formats for the development of deposits at the next stage.

Another important topic of the meeting was the discussion of cooperation issues in the introduction of modern technologies in the field of oil refining.

Great interest was also expressed in the activities of the company's research institutes. It was agreed to explore the possibilities of cooperation in this area.

The parties agreed to continue practical work on the discussed areas, emphasizing that expanding cooperation based on high technologies, investments, and advanced engineering solutions is beneficial to both sides.
