PT Pertamina (Persero) is strengthening synergy with the government and ministries/institutions in implementing various strategic agendas in the energy sector, ranging from increasing oil and gas production, strengthening the energy supply chain, to developing biofuels and geothermal energy.
This collaboration is an important part of increasing the utilization of domestic energy resources, reducing dependence on imports, and ensuring that the energy needs of the community can be met throughout Indonesia.
This effort was part of the discussion at the Nusantara Energy Resilience Synergy activity held in Yogyakarta, Thursday (13/8/2026).
Pertamina President Commissioner Mochamad Iriawan said synergy between Pertamina and the government is needed to ensure various strategic energy agendas can be implemented effectively.
"The Nusantara Energy Resilience Synergy is part of a collaborative collaboration between ministries and the government. We have a one-team, one-objective spirit: ensuring timely energy availability throughout Indonesia, cost-efficiently, and in accordance with regulations," said Iriawan.
According to Iriawan, government support plays a crucial role in creating an ecosystem that supports accelerated investment and increased national energy production.
"Every faster process means one step closer to increasing production, investment, and ultimately strengthening Indonesia's energy security," he added.
Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency, Ossy Dermawan, emphasized that national energy security requires collaboration between various stakeholders.
"National energy security cannot be built by a single party. Collaboration from various stakeholders is needed to ensure energy infrastructure development proceeds quickly, orderly, fairly, and sustainably," said Ossy.
According to him, support for spatial planning, land availability, and legal certainty over land and assets are important parts of supporting the development of national energy infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Pertamina Deputy President Director Oki Muraza said synergy with the government is also needed to accelerate Pertamina's various strategic agendas, from exploration and increasing oil and gas production to developing low-carbon energy.
In the upstream sector, Pertamina continues to optimize oil and gas potential, including the development of unconventional oil and gas (UNCO), which has potential resources of over 11 billion barrels. Pertamina is also strengthening biofuel development to reduce dependence on fuel imports, as well as geothermal energy as a national clean energy source.
"We already have the technology, we've already started production, and the results are proven. However, we need to continue developing the raw materials so we can reduce fuel imports," Oki said.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero) Muhammad Baron said that cross-stakeholder collaboration is an important part of strengthening the national energy ecosystem.
"Energy security requires strong synergy. Collaboration with the government and all stakeholders is crucial to increase the utilization of domestic energy resources, strengthen the supply chain, and ensure energy is available to people throughout Indonesia," said Baron.
According to Baron, this synergy is also part of Pertamina's efforts to optimize the strength of all its business lines, from upstream to downstream, to support national energy independence and resilience while providing broader economic benefits to the community.
