With ISO 14067, Westlake Vinnolit now also holds Product Carbon Footprint certification for all PVC products in Standard, GreenVin®, and GreenVin® bio-attributed grades.
The successful external verification of the Product Carbon Footprints (PCF) confirms that our calculation methodology complies with the requirements of ISO 14067 as well as the guidelines of Together for Sustainability (TfS) and Euro Chlor. The TfS PCF Guideline is applied as a harmonized methodology for the chemical industry and supplemented by established European industry data from Euro Chlor for the chlor-alkali value chain.
This standardized approach ensures that product-related greenhouse gas emissions are calculated in a consistent, transparent, and traceable manner. This enhances the transparency, comparability, and credibility of the PCF data and creates a robust foundation for our customers’ Scope 3 calculations. At the same time, the verification enables standardized and trustworthy communication with customers, as well as a transparent presentation of progress in reducing the carbon footprint of our products.
The verified PCF data also makes an important contribution to the further decarbonization of the chemical value chain. Specific individual values have also been certified for all PVC and lye types, enabling customers to access product-specific and reliable emissions data.
