PT Pertamina (Persero) fully supports the government's policy through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 107 of 2026 which strengthens the governance of the procurement of petroleum, fuel oil (BBM), and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), both from domestic production and imports, to support national energy security.
Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri said that Pertamina is committed to carrying out government assignments professionally and responsibly to ensure energy availability for the community and industry.
"Pertamina fully supports Presidential Regulation 107 of 2026 as a step to strengthen national energy security amidst global geopolitical dynamics. We are committed to carrying out government assignments professionally and responsibly to ensure a secure energy supply for the public and industry," said Simon, who also attended a press conference at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in Jakarta.
The press conference followed a meeting with the Minister of Industry, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Director General of Oil and Gas, Head of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas), and Pertamina Group officials to anticipate the impact of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East on national energy security. At the meeting, Coordinating Minister for Downstream and Energy Transition, Bahlil Lahadalia, described the Presidential Regulation as a new chapter in the procurement system for crude oil, fuel, and LPG.
"With this Presidential Decree, we are implementing a G-to-G and G-to-B system, meaning we can now make choices based on the countries we choose," he explained.
Through this policy, procurement from abroad can be carried out through cooperation schemes between governments (government to government/G2G) or between governments and business entities (government to business/G2B), with implementation by Public Service Agencies (BLU) assigned by the government.
According to Bahlil, this policy also provides greater space for Pertamina and Pertamina Patra Niaga to develop supply sources to maintain national energy sustainability.
Meanwhile, separately, Pertamina's Vice President of Corporate Communication Muhammad Baron said that Pertamina is ready to strengthen coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, BLU Lemigas, SKK Migas, and related parties in accordance with their respective authorities and assignments.
Pertamina also ensures infrastructure and operational readiness, from refineries and terminals to distribution networks, to support policy implementation in accordance with government-determined mechanisms.
"This Presidential Decree strengthens procurement channels for national energy security. Pertamina is ready to collaborate with the BLU Lemigas and other stakeholders. We share the same goal: to ensure a secure supply for the public," he said.
Baron emphasized that the utilization of domestic crude oil and national refinery production remains Pertamina's priority. Together with SKK Migas and Production Sharing Contract Contractors (KKKS), Pertamina continues to strengthen crude oil supplies to national refineries in accordance with operational needs and applicable regulations.
"Foreign procurement complements domestic supply to ensure adequate national needs," he said.
Baron added that Pertamina's current focus is maintaining energy availability and ensuring the smooth distribution of fuel and LPG to the public. To that end, Pertamina continues to optimize the readiness of its facilities, fleet, and distribution network so that the implementation of government policies can provide tangible benefits to the public through increasingly reliable energy availability and services.
"Pertamina will continue to collaborate with all relevant parties to ensure reliable supply and strive to provide the best service to the public," Baron said.
