Ethylene prices race higher in Asia on supply disruptions and higher energy costs
On Thursday, ethylene prices in Asia rose as upstream energy costs surged due to the escalating conflict in West Asia.
At the same time, shortages of key feedstocks prompted several regional producers to either declare force majeure or reduce operating rates, tightening supply and boosting overall market sentiment.
CFR South East Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 965-975/mt levels, a sharp hike of USD (+30/mt) from Wednesday's assessed levels.
CFR North East Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 845-855/mt levels, a sharp gain of USD (+30/mt) from the previous day.
