Taking place from 29 September – 1 October 2026 in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, this enhanced edition will bring together three integrated technical streams under one unified conference platform
The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), the voice of the chemical industry in the Arabian Gulf, will convene industry leaders, technical experts and frontline professionals at the 7th GPCA Responsible Care Conference, taking place from 29 September – 1 October 2026 at Jubail University City, Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
Held under the theme “Transforming Process Safety Culture: Competency, Empowerment, Discipline,” this year’s conference marks a significant milestone in the evolution of GPCA’s Responsible Care® program. Building on the success of the inaugural GPCA Process Safety Conference in 2024, GPCA has integrated process safety into its flagship Responsible Care Conference, creating a broader platform that addresses the interconnected priorities of process safety, emergency management and environmental protection.
The enhanced format reflects the industry’s growing recognition that operational excellence depends on more than robust systems alone. Strengthening process safety today requires a holistic approach that combines leadership, workforce competency, effective governance, digital innovation, emergency preparedness and environmental stewardship to improve resilience and safeguard people, assets and communities.
Across three days, delegates will gain access to 48 peer-reviewed technical presentations delivered through three dedicated technical streams covering process safety, emergency management and environmental protection. The conference program has been designed to help companies benchmark their practices against regional and international best practice, while sharing practical lessons learned from operating facilities across the GCC.
The conference will also feature two specialist technical workshops focused on critical industry challenges. The first explores the role of human factors in preventing incidents, examining how behavioral and organizational elements influence operational safety. The second addresses best practices in emergency management during hostile conditions, equipping participants with strategies to strengthen preparedness, resilience and response capabilities in complex operating environments.
A new addition to this year’s program is “Process Safety by Frontliners,” an initiative that brings operators and technicians from GPCA member companies to the conference stage to share first-hand experiences and operational insights. By recognizing frontline personnel as the industry’s first line of defence, the conference has been designed to strengthen a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous learning across chemical and petrochemical operations.
Senior executives will also participate in strategic panel discussions examining the leadership actions required to elevate Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) performance across the region. Topics will include digital transformation, evolving regulatory frameworks, governance and the role of leadership in embedding strong process safety cultures throughout organizations.
Beyond technical knowledge sharing, the conference seeks to strengthen collaboration across the GCC by fostering greater alignment on Responsible Care® principles, accelerating capability development and promoting the exchange of proven operational practices. Through its expanded scope, the event is aimed at reinforcing GPCA’s commitment to advancing process safety, while supporting the industry’s broader sustainability and operational excellence ambitions.
