Propylene prices journey northward in Europe
On Thursday, propylene spot prices marched higher in the European region.
An industry source in Europe on condition of anonymity informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Prices rose sharply on the back of a significant uplift in spot market transactions. Market participants observed that demand variances have grown disproportionately across varied consumer segments, with buyers’ inclination for procuring material dependent on current supply fundamentals.”
On Thursday, spot polymer grade propylene prices were assessed at the Euro 825-835/mt FD NWE levels, a sharp gain of Euro (+35/mt) from last week.
CIF NWE propylene prices on Thursday were assessed at the Euro 825-835/mt levels, a week on week spike of Euro (+45/mt).
European propylene feedstock contract price for January 2024 settled at the Euro 1050/MT FD North West Europe levels. This price represents a rollover from its December 2023 settlement levels.
