This week, LLDPE spot prices drifted lower in the European region.
A European industry source while requesting to remain unidentified informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Trading momentum in the European LLDPE market was subdued, with consumers displaying reluctance in initiating purchases in spite of reduced offers in the market. A dampened purchase pulse further contributed to the pricing downtrend in the region.”
The source added, ”Prices are likely to remain volatile over the next few weeks.”
In the spot markets, LLDPE prices were assessed at the Euro 1145-1155/mt FD Northwest Europe levels, a week on week drop of Euro (-30/mt).
In the contract markets, LLDPE grade prices were assessed at the Euro 1660-1665/mt FD NWE Germany and FD NWE France levels, both left unchanged from last week. LLDPE grade prices were assessed at the Euro 1660-1665/mt FD NWE Italy levels, steady week on week. Meanwhile, LLDPE grade prices were assessed at the GBP 1415-1420/mt FD NWE UK levels, marginally down GBP (-5/mt) from the previous week.
FCA Antwerp LLDPE film prices were assessed at the Euro 1130-1160/mt levels, a week on week decline of Euro (-30/mt).
Ethylene spot prices on Thursday were assessed at the Euro 810-820/mt FD North West Europe levels, a rise of Euro (+5/mt) from last week.
European ethylene feedstock contract price for April 2024 settled at the Euro 1260/MT FD North West Europe levels. This price represents a sharp rise of Euro 40/mt from its March 2024 settlement levels.
