This week, LDPE prices declined in the European region.
An industry source in Europe informed a Polymerupdate team member, “The month commenced on a dull note for the European LDPE market which experienced limited trading activity with the region set to observe several holidays. Market fundamentals were noticeably weak even as demand remained subdued and material availability was ample.”
In the spot markets, LDPE prices were assessed at the Euro 1185-1195/mt FD Northwest Europe mark, a week on week drop of Euro (-20/mt).
In the contract markets, General Purpose LDPE grade prices were assessed at the Euro 1860-1865/mt FD NWE Germany and FD NWE Italy levels, both falling by Euro (-10/mt) from last week. LDPE General Purpose grade prices were assessed at the Euro 1860-1865/mt FD NWE France levels, a decrease of Euro (-10/mt) from the previous week. Meanwhile, LDPE grade prices were assessed at the GBP 1600-1605/mt FD NWE UK levels, unchanged week on week.
FCA Antwerp LDPE General Purpose film prices were assessed at the Euro 1170-1190/mt levels, declining by Euro (-20/mt) from last week.
Ethylene spot prices on Thursday were assessed at the Euro 755-765/mt FD North West Europe levels, marginally lower by Euro (-5/mt) from the previous week.
European ethylene feedstock contract price for May 2024 settled at the Euro 1250/MT FD North West Europe levels. This price represents a drop of Euro 10/mt from its April 2024 settlement levels.
