Asian Ethylene prices surge amid stronger buying interest and tight spot availability
Last week, ethylene prices rallied across the Asian region.
An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, "Ethylene prices increased amid improved economic conditions, firmer energy values, and a recovery in buying sentiment. Stronger purchasing interest supported trading activity, while limited spot availability in the region kept supply relatively tight. Greater acceptance of higher-priced offers further strengthened seller confidence, allowing suppliers to maintain firm price indications and supporting the upward movement in ethylene prices.”
CFR Southeast Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 1110-1120/mt levels, a week-on-week rise of USD (+85/mt).
CFR Northeast Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 1145-1155/mt levels, a spike of USD (+100/mt) from the previous week.
FOB Korea ethylene prices were assessed at USD 1135-1145/mt levels, while FOB Japan prices were assessed at USD 1130-1140/mt levels, both sharply higher by USD (+100/mt) from the previous week.
