An industry source in Asia, on condition of anonymity, informed a Polymerupdate team member, "PVC prices rose amid a sharp increase in freight rates, driven by higher energy costs and ongoing logistical issues. Sellers raised their offers, while market participants reported that shipment loading from producers is currently being delayed by approximately 2–3 weeks, subject to cargo availability, further tightening near-term supply. Higher feedstock costs also provided additional support to prices. However, weak demand and cautious buying interest limited the upside, with buyers largely reluctant to accept higher-priced imports and some opting for locally available material instead.”
In Far East Asia, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 780 to 860/mt CFR levels, rising, USD (+20/mt) week on week. A producer from Taiwan has offered its PVC resin suspension grade at the USD 860/mt CFR levels.

In Southeast Asia, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 790 to 860/mt CFR levels, moving higher, USD (+40/+10/mt) compared to the prior week. In Vietnam, a producer from Japan has offered its PVC resin Suspension grade at USD 860/mt CFR levels, while a South Korean producer has offered its PVC resin Suspension grade at USD 790/mt CFR levels.

VCM prices on a CFR Far East Asia basis were assessed at USD 565 to 575/mt levels, higher, USD (+10/mt) from the previous week, while CFR Southeast Asia VCM prices were assessed stable at USD 615 to 625/mt levels, rolled over from the previous week.
