Styrene Monomer (SM) prices plunge in Asia
On Thursday, SM prices moved sharply lower, tracking a drop in upstream energy rates.
Prices fell on weaker benzene feedstock values, coupled with sluggish buying activity in key Asian markets.
FOB Korea SM prices were assessed at USD 1330-1340/mt levels, a tumble of USD (-60/mt) from Wednesday’s assessed levels.
CFR China SM prices were assessed at USD 1290-130/mt levels, a sharp decrease of USD (-60/mt) from the previous day.
Meanwhile, FOB Korea benzene prices were assessed at USD 1155-1165/mt levels, a sharp day-on-day fall of USD (-35/mt).
