Propylene prices surge in Asia amid supply constraints
Last week, propylene prices witnessed a steep rise in the Asian region.
An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Propylene prices increased amid limited supply and firmer offers from suppliers. Supply-side constraints supported sellers' efforts to maintain higher price indications. However, subdued downstream demand and weak buying interest limited market activity. Buyers remained cautious, focusing on immediate requirements rather than inventory accumulation. Meanwhile, buyer resistance and sluggish trading activity capped further price gains.”
FOB Korea propylene prices were assessed at USD 1295-1305/mt levels, a sharp gain of USD (+40/mt) from the previous week.
CFR China propylene prices were assessed at USD 1345-1355/mt levels, a week-on-week spike of USD (+50/mt).
CFR Taiwan propylene prices were assessed at USD 1205-1215/mt levels, a hike of USD (+50/mt) from the previous week.
CFR Southeast Asia propylene prices were assessed at USD 1275-1285/mt levels, a week on week increase of USD (+10/mt).
